Most people associate Canada with cold and snow, but the country has a whole range of climates and lots of beautiful warm and sunny spots! Plan your perfect Canadian summer trip with this list of the country’s warmest places. For the sunniest weather, your best bet is to head to the West Coast, but Eastern Canada offers some great spots as well.

Calgary, Alberta
For maximum sun exposure, plan a trip to Calgary, the sunniest city in Canada. With 333 days of sun per year, you’re almost guaranteed to have great weather on your vacation. Don’t miss the Calgary Stampede, which takes place every year in July.

Victoria, British Columbia
In addition to being a beautiful city filled with wonderful restaurants, activities, and scenery, Victoria also has the mildest year-round climate of any city in Canada. Located on Vancouver Island, there is no shortage of fun activities here!

Kelowna, British Columbia
Nestled in the heart of the Okanagan Valley (i.e., BC’s wine country), Kelowna is an amazing destination year-round. It boasts some of Canada’s warmest winters and hot sunny summers—couple that with many of the country’s best wineries, and there’s really no reason not to visit Kelowna!

Sunshine Coast, British Columbia
With a name like that, it’s not surprising that this stretch of coastline made this list! It’s just a 40-minute ferry ride from Vancouver, but you won’t find any of the grey, rainy weather that characterizes the city here. During the warm summer months, explore the area’s many islands, beaches, parks, and trails.

Prince Edward County, Ontario
Prince Edward County is a perfect summer getaway, and an easy drive from Eastern Canada’s largest cities of Toronto, Ottawa, and Montreal. With a warm summer climate and lots of attractions, including beaches, wineries, farmers markets, and spas, this island offers a charming vacation spot in Central Ontario.

Northumberland Strait, New Brunswick
You may expect to find Canada’s warmest beaches on the milder West Coast, but they’re actually located along New Brunswick’s Northumberland Strait coastline. Shallow waters and favorable currents can bring summer ocean temperatures up to 29°C (84°F)! There are beaches all along the coast, and it’s a perfect spot for a beach vacation.

South Shore, Prince Edward Island
You’ll find similarly warm waters along PEI’s South Shore, which also borders along the Northumberland Strait. The island is famous for its beaches, and you can fill an entire vacation just beach hopping along the coastline.
